A reef light can have excellent output and still perform poorly if it is mounted at the wrong height, off-centre, or on a bracket that gradually sags. What a reef light mount needs to do
A light mount carries a static load, but reef tanks make the job harder than it first appears. Heat, salt creep, humidity and repeated adjustment all expose weak designs. A mount should remain stable once positioned, without slipping at the clamp, twisting on the rim or allowing the light to bounce when the cabinet or floor moves.
