1. Product Description

The Radion XR15 Reef Aquarium LED Shade is a model-specific magnetic shade designed to reduce sideways glare and contain lateral light spill from the Radion XR15 fixture. Its geometry follows the fixture contours for a clean integrated appearance and tool-free snap-on installation.

• Magnetic Installation: Integrated high-strength magnets provide tool-free snap-on fitting and removal.
• Maximum Light Containment: Dense composite construction reduces glare and visible light bleed through the shade walls.
• Marine-Environment Materials: PETG-CF and PETG-GF provide dimensional stability, heat resistance and durability above saltwater aquariums.
• Sealed Magnets: Magnets are completely enclosed within the printed body, isolating them from humid marine air and salt spray.
• Aquarium-Safe Construction: The composite materials are chemically stable and inert for use around reef aquariums.

4. Optical Performance

• White Variant: Redirects light that would otherwise spill into the room back toward the aquarium. This can increase useful light delivery and may allow lower fixture intensity while maintaining the required PAR.
• Black Variant: Blocks lateral glare without using a reflective inner surface. It is intended primarily for glare control and a stealthy integrated appearance.

Actual PAR change depends on mounting height, spectrum, intensity, aquascape, water clarity and measurement position. Measure PAR before and after installation before changing fixture intensity.

• Designed for use above marine and reef aquariums.
• Occasional accidental immersion will not harm the shade because the magnets are sealed and the composites are aquarium safe.
• Remove the shade before working around the light to avoid allowing any item to fall into the aquarium unnecessarily.
• Clean with a wet or damp soft cloth, then dry before refitting.
• Remove accumulated salt spray before it forms a hard deposit.

7. Inspection Criteria

Periodically inspect the shade and remove it from service if the printed body becomes cracked, distorted, loose, or exposes any magnetic material.
